So this is Feeling Alive. I will most likely change the name...
I'm not quiet sure how this is going to work out so if you've read any of my other books you may have noticed I tend to write some gory scenes and some romantic. Just warning you case you can't take that sort of thing. ;)
I'm still looking for a main pic...
I lay on the floor of a cold, damp, dark, room. I had been asleep for a long time and yet nothing made sense and I understood nothing.
Footsteps, a door opening, light…. It’s so strange… so beautiful…
A tall man looks over me, but I can’t see his face from the brilliance of the gray light. “You waken.” He said, sounding slightly surprised. “Do you feel anything?”
“Feel?” I wonder trying to make sense of the simple word. I struggle with the word a moment and it slowly came to me. “I feel nothing…”
The man nodded. “I didn’t think you would.”
Words lay waiting on my lips wishing to spill, but I wouldn’t let them. I didn’t understand them or anything for that matter. Who I was, where… why. I mulled over the words the emptiness in my mind, but it was so difficult and making my head hurt.
The man sensed my discomfort. “Rest.” He told me. “You will feel well later.”
Darkness began to consume me again and I was forced to comply. Watching through my droopy eyelids as the door slowly shut and the beautiful gray light left with the man. I didn’t understand anything and it bugged me, but it was too late to think about that any further as everything was almost completely black again. Suddenly something I understood popped into my mind.
There's the prologue! If your wondering the speaker is a boy and that's about all I can tell you.

Chapter 1: My Life
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!*
My alarm clock loudly announced that it was morning yet again. I hit the snooze and rolled over not wanting to wake up.
“Rise and shine!” My mother’s peppy voice came from my door.
“Lexie! Wake up!”
I sat up rubbing my green eyes before looking in the mirror across from my bed. My amber, brown, streaked, hair was everywhere and I moaned slightly.
“Alright!” My mom called. “Here they come.”
“Huh?” I grunted.
The door opened and my massive German Shepard, Brownie, came flying in. I gave a yelp and tried to dive under the covers. I didn’t make it in time though cause I soon found myself pinned to my bed with Brownie trying to lick my face off. I tried to scream for help in-between licks, but my mother just stood in the doorway grinning at me. Then around her legs came Yokie, my other large dog. She was a beautiful husky with baby blue eyes. Of course she couldn’t miss out on the fun and had to quickly join Brownie. I was practically drowning in dog and no matter what I could pull them off me.
“Alright Yokie and Brownie, get off of Lexie.” My mom ordered and they finally conceited.
I lay sprawled out on my bed just trying to breath. My mom opened the curtain. “Morning honey!”
I pouted. “You didn’t have to wake me up like that!”
My mom smirked. “After the party last night I was pretty sure you’d never wake up for work.”
I sighed dramatically. “I don’t think I want to go to work today.”
My mom chuckled. “Yes you do, you love your job and it’s the last day before school starts again.”
I sighed again, but less dramatically. “You still didn’t need to send Yokie and Brownie on me.”
My mom laughed. “Sorry, you may need to take a shower now.”
I grimaced and got out of bed and went straight for the shower.
If you’re wondering, my full name is Alexandra Parkinson though I prefer Lexie. I’m an only child and my parents are super busy (Cept my mom in the summer) so I got to a boarding school. I’ve been going there since grade one and I’m currently about to go into grade ten so this will be my tenth year in the same school. Some of my summer friends think it must be awful going to a boarding school, but I happen to go to the most posh and coolest school in the world! It’s called Tamma Academy and it has over a thousand students and some of the best teachers, the coolest part it’s on an island in the middle of the ocean and the only way to get there is by boat or helicopter! Normally my family wouldn’t be able to afford such a school, but I happen to be best friends with the daughter of the schools principle! *sigh* I’ve got to be the luckiest girl in the whole world!
Uuurrg where'd this 4000 character rule come from?!?
I quickly finished my shower and ran downstairs to eat breakfast with my mom. This is a very special time for me. A short amount of time I get every day (In the summer) where it’s just me and mom. Brownie and Yokie wait by my feet begging for scrapes. Unfortunately for them my mom made cinnamon buns that day and there was no way I was going to share those!
We yattered for a while, about school and such until the bus arrived. I kissed my mom on the cheek and left.
I work at our towns proud two story library where I spend hours organizing books and helping people find books. It has to be the best job in the whole world!!! The bus dropped me right in front of the library and I quickly ran in.
Mr. Juan (Pronounced Hon I think… its Spanish) greeted me. “Hello Lexie, your five minutes late.”
“Morning sir! Sorry!” I replied quickly going behind the counter to set up for the day.
Mr. Juan chuckled slightly not really minding that I was late since I was almost always on time. He was in his late fifty’s and had a perfectly cut mustache that for some reason is the only thing I can remember about him every time I think about him. Well that and his bad taste in fashion. He loved to wear suits that looked like he used the fabric off your grandma’s flowery old couch… I just call that special.
“Is Randy here yet?” I asked hopefully.
“Nope.” Mr. Juan grunted getting the keys to open the library officially.
I sighed. Randy also worked for the library, but he was always super late and rather lazy to. Mr. Juan was considering firing him and I couldn’t help but feel bad for him, still he needed to learn some punctuality.
I quickly got down to work and grabbed a cart full of books. Normally a cart would take me about a half hour to put away. Not because I was slow, but more because I’m a bit of a perfectionist and tend to clean each isle as I put away. Mr. Juan loves it though so I’ve always done it.
After I finish Randy finally arrives, huffing and puffing. “Sorry I’m late sir!” He says.
Randy is the same age as me. He has jet black hair and blue eyes which look almost weird on him, but he somehow manages to pull it off.
Mr. Juan crosses his arms and gives him a ‘Come-here’ look. Randy walks over nervously. “You’re lucky todays the last day because next year if your late once I’m going to have to fire you.” Mr. Juan warns.
Randy looks devastated. “Yes sir.” He whispers. He gets to work checking out books. I watch him sadly. The poor kid, I couldn’t help, but wonder what his story is.
Later when I get the chance I talk with him. “Why are you always so late anyway?” I ask.
Randy glares at me. “It’s personal.” He says tartly.
I feel surprised at his reaction. “S-sorry.”
His face softened. “No, it’s ok. Sorry for snapping, I just prefer to keep that to myself.”
I nodded understanding. I turned to leave, but he grabbed my arm to stop me. “Listen…”
I stopped and looked at him.
He looked around to make sure we were alone. “You go to that boarding school called Tamma Academy right?”
I nodded slowly.
“If you ever meet the superintendent there… get away as fast as you can.” He told me so seriously I thought he was talking about a murderer. Quickly he left and I stood in the isle unsure if I could even move from the shock.
Whoa...for some reason this is slightly reminding me of a story idea I had a while ago...strange.
Ha ha! Another person with black hair! I totally called it.
I'm going to put up their pics soonish.
The first chapter and the prologue are like completely opposite... and with totally different people... if you want to call the person from the prologue a person...
I can't decide if I should show the character from the prologues pic...
I decided to put the pic of the boy up.
I am liking your new book.
I'm glad you guys like it! The first bit of the book is going to be all school girly, but as the story continues there will be more about the person from the prologue.
