Hunter's dad

In Hunter Brown and the Eye of Ends, Hunter's dad pulls off a Darth Vader type of act. He is good for a little while, then turns into the Shadow Titan for a little while longer, and then gives his heart to Aviad at the end. His spirit went into the Author's house. I need other comments before I can come to a different conclusion.
