The Christian Crusaders: The Desert Journey

I am writing a book and I will be posting it on this discussion.(I am so excited!) So the story behind my story is interesting. I just started typing a paragraph because i was going to show my dad something on the internet and i came up with the prologue that you are going to be reading. I had no intentions of it being a story, but here I am. This is my very first time doing this so I may not post the chapters very fast, but I will try my best. That's about all, so I hope you enjoy reading my book. Oh, and one more thing. I am not tyring to be or anything, but those of you who read this please do not take any parts or ideas from my book. Hey, this is great! I've always wanted to write my own book but I get so caught up in other things so I don't finish it. You have encouraged to start again, and not give up. Again, this is a great story. Also, you've probably been wondering about me joining your RPG. Well, I've been sick lately and so I've been busy trying to make up school work and stuff. I assure you I will start soon.

I have a question. Do you actually write it down and save it then post it here, or do you only write it on here?

I type it up on a word doc and then save it. After that I just copy and paste on the place where you type your replies and then post it.

Chapter Three

I suddenly woke up to a sound. The sun was starting to come up and I could see rays of sunlight coming up in the distance. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the time on my watch. It said 5:07 p.m. I heard a groan and looked over at Kylie. She groaned again and rolled over on her side. “Kylie?” Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around.

I took in my surroundings and noticed Clayton was sitting up and looking at me. My mind came back to reality. “The crash! Is everybody okay?”

“Now that you are awake, yes.” Clayton said. “You’ve been unconscious for about 24-hours.”

“That long?” I asked.

“Yep.” Clayton smiled. “It’s good to have you back.”

“Can the plane fly?” I looked around one more time. “I guess that’s pretty self-explainable.” I said. “This plane isn’t going anywhere.” Jason stirred.

“What’s all the noise for?” He asked.

“Kylie is conscious now.” Clayton said.

I shot up. “She is?” I looked over at Kylie, who was sitting up. She smiled and waved slowly.

“Hi Jason.” She said sounding a little shy.

I sighed. “Are you alright?” I asked.

“I’m fine.” She replied. Kylie was always kind of shy, but not a lot around her friends. She always got shy when she received a lot attention and this was one of those times.

“You really don’t like getting a lot of attention do you.” I asked.

“No, not really. It always makes me feel kind of nervous.” She said. Clayton sat there listening to our conversation and then opened his mouth to say something.

“Well, since we are all awake we should start getting ready to move out.” I said. Jason shot a glance at me.

“Clayton, do you mean we are going to walk all the way to the next airport?” He asked.

“Yes. It’s only about 100 miles away and if we make good time, we can reach it in three to four days. Sound good?” Both Kylie and Jason nodded their heads.

Chapter Four

After the three of us were fully awake we began getting ready to set out. The first thing we did was roll up our blankets with our pillows and then tied them up with what we could find. We all tried to make our rolls so we could just let them hang by our side, sort of like a purse. After that Jason and I tried to find some more provisions in what was left of the plane. In the light you could see that the plane was a lot worse than it seemed. There was trash everywhere in it and clothes that were torn or either burnt in half. Still, there were a few good shirts that we could use. Some of them were Kylies, so I took them to her.

“Thanks.” She said.

I smiled. “You’re welcome. You can roll them up in your blankets if you want.”

“Ok.” She said, starting to untie her roll.

I started walking back into the plane and up to where the pilot would be. I knew the pilot was dead and we would have to bury him. I grimaced at the sight of him. His face was barely recognizable because the whole control board had blown up. I sat down in the co-pilots seat to think. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw something flicker to the left of me. It was the radio. “Jason, come here.”

I walked over to Clayton. “What is it?”

“I think this radio has a little bit of juice in it. The lights on it keep flickering. We might be able to get a message through.” He said sounding excited.

“Really?” I asked. I started to lay down on the ground and looked under the control board.” I think I can boost the power. These two wires that are connected are separated, but I can put them together easy. I grabbed both of them and twisted them together.

“Whoa.” I heard Clayton say.

“What happened?” I asked. The whole radio turned on, but we better hurry before the whole thing turns off. I watched as Clayton started pressing a few buttons.

I started turning the nob to try and to find the frequency of the airport we were going to. I tuned it left and it started whirring. It sounded like waves and it kept changing its pitch. Jason got up and yelled for Kylie. She came running in and we turned around to face her.

As I ran into the plane Clayton and Jason turned around to face me. “What.” I asked, but they just stared at me and grinned. Then they both looked down at the radio. I looked down and smiled when I saw the radio was on.
