Codebearers

Hey everyone!

This is the second book after The Felixi! I've also written an RPG and a third book.

I hope you'll enjoy this one as much as the first, but I'm going to warn you. It's going to be quite different.

They're may be blood or gruesome scenes so I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids. Also there's some romance for those of you who are "allergic" to it.

Please feel free to give comments. Don't copy this either please. This is my hard work, I put it up here for people to enjoy, not copy. Thank you and enjoy! -^-^-

Prologue

She sat there, in her rocking chair, her face toward the window. Her long gray hair was braided then put into a tight bun atop her head.  She smiled slightly showing her wrinkles, proving she had been alive for many years. Children ran around her yard laughing and playing, they were so happy on this side of the world. She couldn’t help but to think of all the other children on the world though, the ones that weren’t as lucky and living in the peaceful country. Her eyes were white and cloudy from being blind for so long. She closed them and saw the war ridden side of the world. People young and old, using their powers to kill each other. She opened her eyes and wiped them with a dainty cloth and stood. The others had arrived not too long ago, the last one was ready. She needed to call him home.

Chapter 16: The Mountains Tribe

Later we exited the forest and came to a large, long grassy field that went all the way to the mountains way out in the distance. We rested by a tree on the outskirt of the forest. “So when can we begin training?” I asked.

“Well,” began Peter looking me over. “Since you’re a mind controller then you need to learn to have a lot of control.”

I laughed sarcastically. “Very funny.”

“I’m serious.” Peter said. “You need a lot of control to hold your grip on your opponent especially if they’re a mind crusher. Now would you like to learn or not?”

I nodded excitedly.

“Good.” Said Peter. He took a perfectly round ball out of his pocket and picked up a stick. Taking the stick he chopped off the end with a knife to make the tip flat. “Balance the ball on the very end of the stick.” He told me.

My eyes widened. “I can’t do that!”

“You will soon.” Peter told me standing.

I took the stick and ball. “Wait, are we going now?”

“Yep.” Peter answered.

“When can I practice then?” I asked.

“Right now.” Peter told me smirking.

“While were walking?” I exclaimed.

“You want to start training don’t you? I won’t teach you anything more until you can run, balancing that ball on the stick for at least five minutes. You need to learn to control your arm. As soon as you learn that, training your mind to do the same shouldn’t be that hard.” He told me.

I looked at the stick and nodded standing and trying to balance it. We went on for hours and I tried my best but nothing I seemed to do could control my arm. Peter seemed to be rather amused with my attempts though. By the afternoon I had pretty much given up.

“My arms all cramped up.” I explained.

Peter shrugged. “Too bad, you’re not going anywhere if you’re not doing anything.”

I sighed and all during lunch practiced with the ball and stick. The day seemed to drag by and it didn’t seem like we had made much progress walking wise. The amount of time I had guessed it would take us to get to the mountain was far longer than I had first presumed. Finally evening came again and before bed I sat up late trying to control my stick and ball. I went to bed late and woke up early and practiced.

“Tell me.” Peter began. “Are you just trying to use brute force to stop your arm from shaking?”

I blinked. “Uh yeah.”

Peter smirked and stood putting away the gear. “Why don’t you try other techniques? “

I looked at my arm and then back to Peter and nodded getting right back to work. We walked for several hours before we made it into a small forest full of large rocks. As we walked Peter suddenly turned back to me. “Why don’t you take a break?”

We turned a corner and made it to a hot springs. Peter took off his shirt and dove in floating to the surface after a while. “Come in.” he told me. “It’s nice and relaxing.”

I laughed and took off my shirt following Peter in and enjoying the water. It especially felt good on my poor sore arm and I could feel the muscles relaxing.  We swam around a bit before finding some shallow rocks to sit on.

Peter was look at me. “What?” I asked.

“Your arm…” He told me.

I looked at my shoulder and spotted the scar from my death mark. “Oh this?” I paused thinking my words over carefully.

“Death mark.” Peter whispered. “From Levi.”

I looked surprised.

Peter sighed and sat back. “He was fascinated with an old book he found in the library. It was full of signs like that. They’re used here sometimes.

“Oh.” Was the only thing I could think of to say.

Peter got out of the water. “We better get moving if we want to make it there this afternoon.”

I followed him and we got back onto our long trek. I tried to balance my ball on the stick but it got even harder as we began to climb and so I stuck them in my pack for later. Finally after quite a ways Peter stopped studying two paths.  We heard a stretching sound and looked up to see an archer on the top of a rock pointing an arrow at us.

Peter held up his hands and I followed suit. “We come in peace.” Peter told the archer.

The archer had a mask on that kind of resembled a dog. After a couple moments he relaxed a bit. “What are you doing here?”

“I want to speak to your leader.” Peter explained.

The archer nodded and climbed down. “You’re going to need to be blind folded.”

We were then both blind folded and led up the mountain. Every once in a while he’d spin us until we really had no clue where we were. After a long dizzy climb the archer took off our blind folds and we found ourselves in the middle of a village. The village was surrounded by tall walls of rock and would no doubt be almost impossible to find.

“Stay by that well.” Peter ordered. “I’m going to meet with the leader.”

“Yes Master.” I told him with a wink.

He shook his head smiling and went with the archer into a hut. I leaned against the well waiting. A young woman walked up to the well and I couldn’t help but look at her. She had long blue hair and looked super familiar. “Zia?” I asked.

She looked up and recognized me. “Darson!”

“Please call me Sacha.” I told her.

She hugged me. “Look at how much you grew!”

I flushed slightly. “It’s good to see you!” I said.

Peter came out of the hut. “They say he’s not back yet….” Peter trailed off as he saw Zia.

Zia was trembling. “P-peter!” she ran over and embraced him.

I smiled leaning against the well and watched as they quickly caught up. Suddenly a group came over the rocks and landed. All were wearing the strange masks and the same protective clothing. I recognized one with bright blonde hair and purple eyes that peeked from the tiger like mask. Levi.

A man walked up to the group and talked with them. “All quiet?” he asked.

Levi shook his head. “We found a dozen or so mind crushers trying to find the village. We killed them all.”

“You mean you did.” One of the group said. “We mostly just stood back while he took them all down.”

Levi said nothing and I watched in surprised. “Levi took down a dozen of them??” I thought.

The man nodded talked with them a bit more before dismissing them. Levi looked at us darkly; slowly he pulled up his mask and looked at us. “Hello Darson.” He said.

“I-I’m called Sacha now.” Was all I could manage to say.

Levi nodded and looked at Peter. Neither said anything for quite a while until Peter finally spoke up. “Levi…”

Levi sighed. “It’s been awhile.”

Peter nodded. “It’s good to see you again.” He started to walk toward Levi, but Levi disappeared with a flash and was behind Peter in the next second.

“I don’t think I can agree with that.” Levi hissed into Peter’s ear.

it looks like there's going to be trouble.

Yes! *cackles evilly* Levi and Peter finally meet again! After fifteen years!
