When handing a knife to someone, hold it by the blade between your thumb and pointer finger, with the blade side down so you don't touch it. Don't hand someone a knife blade pointed at them, unless you really just don't like them.
If you want to slap someone, just do it, but be sure to say "mosquito," "fly," or the like afterwards.
When approaching an animal (especially a dog, cat, or horse), partially close your hand and slowly reach out to the animal, letting it smell you first.
Don't walk up silently behind animals, especially horses; you will, most likely, get injured. Instead, approach said horse slowly, making a lot of noise such as singing, whistling, talking, etc., approaching from the side or front if possible. When approaching a horse or trying to get it to come to you, position yourself so that your side is facing to the horse, not your front. Reach out and becon horse gently.
