Well I just got back from my first meet of the season. This was a USA meet down in Zeeland, MI., so there were a LOT of kids there. I experienced several new things!
1. I experienced what it feels like to miss an event (So, I was on my way to get behind my starting block for the 50 yard freestyle. I get half way up there an noticed that I didn't have my swim cap. I then, stupidly, go back to get it. Now these 50s go really fast, so I was limited with time. I got my swim cap and tried as fats as I could to get back to my block before my heat went. I was pushing my way through and finally got to the blocks. I stopped at block 9 and looked to see if it was the block I was supposed to be at (which was block 2) So then I had to run allllllll the way down to the other end. I ran up to my block, and just when I got behind it the buzzer went, and my heat jumped off the blocks without me. Usually if you miss an event, you automatically miss the next one. However, I didn't get penelized because I was soooo close and wasn't lollygaging, and because none of the officials caught it. THANK GOD!!!!! (literally))
2. I am NOT a distance swimmer (There is a HUGE differene between sprinting a 50 yard freestyle (2 lengths) and swimming a 500 yard freestyle (20 lengths) I LIKE TO SPRINT!!!!)
3. I found out that one of my fellow team mates can drink three glasses of Mountain Dew and still get a good nights sleep! (Weird)
Here's the good news:
All of my times from the end of last year that were SOOOOOOO hard to get, I kept them from a matter of 10ths of seconds at this FIRST meet of the season. I think that's a really good sign.
Thanks for reading this!

No that's fine! It was really fustrating. When the buzzer went I asked the guy next to my if that was heat 2 and he was like, "yeah," then I was like "darn!"
